The Kuwait Municipality was established on April 13, 1930 AD after Sheikh Yusuf bin Issa Al-Qena’i visited Bahrain in July 1928 AD, where he saw the Bahrain Municipality, which was established in 1919 AD. After that, he wrote an article entitled Sharia Governance in the History of Municipalities, and after that the idea of establishing the municipality was presented to The late ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber, who was convinced of the idea and agreed to establish the Kuwait Municipality to contribute to the responsibility of advancing the country in various health and social fields and to carry out its activities through an elected municipal council that takes care of the interests of citizens.
A year after the founding of the municipality, the municipal law was issued, the first article of which stipulated that the municipal council should consist of twelve members and a president.
Since its inception, the Kuwait Municipality has had an independent personality and has its own systems and laws. The municipal council played the role of planning, directing and controlling, and the municipal director and the executive body carried out and carried out the work. At the beginning of the establishment of the municipality, the administrative body consisted of the general director, the administration clerk, a number of collectors, market cleaning workers and guards, and the tasks were limited to… The municipality was responsible for cleaning, monitoring, and collecting fees. The municipal headquarters was in a small office inside a rented shop in the market. In 1933 AD, the municipality moved to its headquarters in Al-Safah Square.

NAB is dedicated to the provision of consulting expertise, improvement methodology, engineering design services, site supervision and construction management. NAB has, for over ten years, helped develop and advance the building industry in Kuwait; and furthermore, is on the list of approved consultants constantly working alongside the Kuwait Municipality and the Ministry of Public Works.
